The DWL Mumbai Readers’ Club is returning from its summer break to discuss the three books its members read during June and July:
Lust, Caution by Eileen Chang – This 1979 novella is a drama of espionage and assassination set in World War II China under Japanese occupation.
Ashes, Wine and Dust by Kanza Javed – A search for identity and a quest to find a lost loved one are at the heart of a young woman’s journey in this contemporary novel.
The Red Carpet: Bangalore Stories by Lavanya Sankaran – A collection of short stories that explore the conflict of traditional and modern values in present-day Bangalore.
If you have read any of the three books, please drop by for the discussion. Hope to see you there! Thanks!
