‘Thagham Festival’
SHIMSHAL is the bordering village that connects Gilgit-Baltistan area of Pakistan with China at an elevation of 3000 meters. People of Shimshal celebrates Tha’gham festival, annoucing the arrival of Spring & agricultural activities.
The Tagham festival starts with the preparation of a local cuisine called “Semn” in a cooking procedure dubbed in the Wakhi language as “Pirkiten.” Other traditional foods prepared during the festival include “Mul” and “Bath.”

CAP welcome all interested adventurres, specially the photographers & film makers to experience this unique event & shoot it.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 01
Departure from Lahore, arrival Islamabad & join members. Continue drive from Islamabad (4:00am) for Chilas (15hrs), Dinner & overnight

Day 02
Breakfast and continue drive to Hunza (6hrs), check inn and free time.
Hike up to Baltit Fort, Explore Baltit Fort & Karimabad Bazar. Back to hotel for dinner & overnight

FOOD: BREAKFAST+LUNCH+DINNER

Day 03
Breakfast & drive to Passu valley via Attabad tunnel & Attabad lake (1:20hrs)
Shift into Toyota jeeps & contiue drive to Shimshal valley (2:30-3:00 hrs)
Arrival Shimshal, check in & free time to expllore the valley
Back to hotel for dinner & overnight stay

Day-4
Breakfast & full day to enjoy the event
Meet locals and eat local food
Small hike around the valley in the evening
Back to Karimabad for dinner & overnight stay

Breakfast & hike to Yazghil glacier (4hrs)
Enjoy the hike to the glacier & stunning vew of Muztagh mountains

Back to Shimshal in the evening for dinner & overnight stay

Day-6
Breakfast & drive to Passu, shift in the bus & drive to Hussaini valley, Explore Borith lake & Hussaini suspension bridge
Continue drive to Attabad lake, Photography & drive back to Karimabad, Check in & free time
Drive to Duekar (Eagle’s Nest ) for sunset view, Enjoy the sunset & drive back to hotel for dinner & overnight stay

Day-7
Breakfast & drive back to Besham via KKH(12hrs), Dinner & overnight stay
