In solidarity with the visually impaired, NUST Community Service Club has organized a Blind Folded Rock Climbing Championship, in collaboration with Pakistan Para Climbing Club. Through this activity, NCSC aims to raise public awareness of blindness & vision impairment as major public health issues as well as to help the people understand what it means to live a life without vision. The society aims to foster changes in the attitude towards people with visual impairment and help the participates learn to empathize with them, and not merely sympathize.
The participants will be blind-folded and asked to climb, so that they realize how much more arduous a challenge becomes without their sight.
The greatest concern among the blind populace is that they will not be able to do many things that those without this incapacitation can relish; a blind person will not be able to fully experience everything that the world has to offer. NCSC aims to promote sports among the visually disabled people through this event. Henceforth, 20 blind people will also compete alongside the blindfolded participants so that they can surmount sight barriers and enjoy a recreational experience.
Ergo, climb in the shoes of the blind this December 24th and get an insight into the people without sight with NCSC.
